September 12-16, 2022 – Bucharest, Romania
The Local Organizing Committee (LOC) of the 3rd European Conference on Earthquake Engineering & Seismology (3ECEES) organizes in the period 12-16 September 2022 in Bucharest, at the Technical University of Civil Engineering of Bucharest (UTCB) and National Institute for Earth Physics (INFP) the “Young Seismologists and Engineers Training Course (YSETC)”.
The YSETC “Intermediate Depth Seismicity and Strong Ground Motions with Large Displacement Demands – Challenges and Insights in Seismology and Earthquake Engineering” provide theoretical fundamentals and practical training in applied Seismology and Earthquake Engineering. Preference is given to young candidates (maximum age of 35 years at the time of the training) studying / working in Seismology (intermediate depth seismicity), Engineering Seismology and Earthquake Engineering (strong ground motions with large displacement demands, seismic design of buildings and structures for large displacement demands).
The interested candidates shall submit the application documents to 3ecees2022@infp.ro, contact@3ecees.ro until August 29, 2022. The application consists in a motivation letter, a CV in extenso (including list of projects and publications) and a recommendation letter. For engineers, the latter one shall be endorsed by the national association for earthquake engineering. The eligible candidates shall study / work in Europe and shall not turn 36 years old at the time of the training. The succesful candidates will be selected by the organizers of YSETC based on the three documents of the application form.
The organizers will select 20 successful candidates for the YSETC, 10 seismologists and 10 engineers. For the successful candidates, the LOC will provide accommodation and meals during the time of the 3ECEES and YSETC).
